Belinda grew up in Cornwall, she gained a degree in Computer Science in 2000 in the South East and returned a couple of years later to build a career in tech at home in Cornwall.  Since then Belinda has worked to support and grow the tech community in Cornwall, from supporting the roll out of broadband and the adoption of internet technology by local businesses, to supporting start up tech businesses and their delivery of digitaltech solutions, and connecting them together.  Belinda has worked on various programmes to support the growth of the tech community resulting in the formation of a close knit micro tech community which collectively and collaboratively became Software Cornwall officially in 2014 as an independant self sustaining not for profit organisation.    Belinda’s more recent background also includes a key role in the development and delivery of multiple highly successful European funded business and tech growth programmes including the globally recognised conference Agile on the Beach.

Belinda’s ambition is to work collaboratively with others to build a strong tech community here in Cornwall, taking advantage of Cornwalls natural talent for engineering, offer solid career pathways and an amazing quality of life.  Belinda has a strong ethos for developing a inclusive and diverse community and culture, that is welcoming and open to all.

Beyond her role at Software Cornwall Belinda runs her own business ‘being agile’, she is a business coach and the originator of the business methodology ‘being agile’.  In 2015 she published her book Being Agile in Business outlining the thinking, approaches and practices she uses herself and with her clients for ‘being agile’. Her book has been internationally published by Pearson, was shortlisted as CMI Management book of the year and translated and published in Chinese.  When she is not working in Cornwall’s Tech sector she travels locally, nationally, internationally and virtually to help teams and organisations to adopt a ‘being agile’ approach to improving and growing their business culture and success.   Belinda is a regular speaker at conferences sharing her experiences of adopting agile within and beyond the tech sector, always flying the flag for Cornwalls Tech community whereever she goes.  She is qualified ILM qualified Business Mentor and Coach, IOD Company Director, and BSc Hons Computer Science graduate.

Belinda commits to being agile as much as she can both in work and life, in her spare time she enjoys Cornwall’s amazing countryside on horseback, renovating her 1920’s bungalow, and unwinding on the beach with her dog.
