Website Falmouth Launchpad

Defining the next generation of tech start-ups

Job Description: Software Engineer

Comity is a startup part of Launchpad at Falmouth University, on the Penryn campus in Cornwall.
We’re changing the way cyclists protect their bikes by giving them complete autonomy from insurance
companies.

This is an exciting time to join us. We’re reaching the end of our incubation year and have
received very positive feedback from industry experts and investors, and are now focusing on
developing an MVP that we will launch in October.

About you

We’re looking for a motivated software engineer who can feel entirely part of our team. You’ll be
comfortable taking initiative and guiding us through this crucial phase of development by finishing
the build of our MVP. Longer term, we also need an ambitious CTO to own this side of the business.
Perhaps it could be you?

The work

We can offer you a full time one-month contract at a competitive rate. We will also need paid ad-
hoc support post-launch for bug fixing and minor iterations.

Our MVP is 70% complete and all the development to date has been tested and well documented.

You’ll work closely with the two co-founders on the following key areas:

• You will continue to implement the claims management process and the payments integration
with our payment partner.

• You will create an admin console.

• Unit tests

Required skills

You must have experience with:

• Java

• Spring

• Hibernate

Desired skills

Ideally, you also know JAX-RS, Docker, AWS, React and Junit.

Please get in touch at info@comity.cc if you wish to apply or if you have any question.

We will require a CV and a quoted day rate before we can proceed. We are happy to provide a detailed list of requirements on demand. Thanks!
