The legendary Agile Huddle is back between the 5th-16th August 2019 – offering a unique software development training opportunity! Are you a keen coder looking to gain more experience? Want a chance to put a real software project on your CV to progress your software development career?
What is the Agile Huddle?
Running 5 -16 August, this free programme is for anyone aged 16 and over who has a keen interest in a software development career and wants to find out what it’s like to work as a developer. Hosted at Bluefruit HQ in Redruth, and now in its fifth year, you’ll learn more about coding in a professional environment with trainers who currently work in software companies across Cornwall.
Experience the tech scene in Cornwall
There are over 2300 digital tech jobs in Cornwall, according to Tech Nation. Software development is a core part of many of these jobs but getting the hands-on experience to feel confident in choosing software development as a career can be difficult.
Agile Huddle aims to give you the practical experience that you don’t necessarily get in the classroom or learning by yourself. It aims to give you a taste of what a tech career can be like.
This hands-on two week-programme is a great way to expand your coding skills beyond languages and get a taste of what it’s like working in a team, in Cornwall, and with the kinds of development practises and project management that businesses like Bluefruit use every day.
Who’s the Agile Huddle for?
Aside from having a real passion for programming, this two-week programme is aimed at people who are at any stage in their software engineering education or career. So long as you are aged 16 or over, and you want to learn and work as part of a team, we encourage you to apply.

Real world, real code, real processes
During the two-week programme, you’ll get practical experience of what it’s like to work on a coding project, using the skills and Lean-Agile practices that are used by actual software development companies like Bluefruit.
There’s plenty packed into the programme, so here’s a taste of what you’ll experience:
- Different software development tools, practices and technology
- Lean-Agile development and project management, like Test-Driven Development and Pair Programming
- Working in teams in a commercial environment
- An opportunity to meet and network with local employers in the tech industry
